Good Form Running (GFR) is the process of making you a more efficient, faster and less injury-prone runner. Over the past five years, The Runner’s Den GFR Clinics have hosted 4,000+ athletes, all of whom have had the simple goal of becoming better runners.
Good Form Running is not a “one-style-fits-all” prescription for the perfect running form, as there is no such thing. It is the adaption of four basic principals to your own body’s mechanics. Everyone’s physiology is unique and accordingly, a personalized approach is needed for each individual runner. GFR has continued to evolve, ever responding to new studies and participant feedback. We are continually updating the program to reflect the latest information available and will continue to do so. Our 70 minute clinic is an interactive experience which will include light running, video analysis of your gait, form drills and an introduction to the four basic principals of Good Form Running. "I am new to running and was looking to improve my speed and reduce my running injuries. I learned a lot of information in just over an hour and was able to use what I learned the next day during training. Barry was an excellent instructor and made the steps easy to learn and remember. I highly recommend the class and I will be back anytime I need running gear." ~Josh |
"Thank your for your willingness to share you expertise in an enthusiastic, encouraging and respectful manner. All of the points were easy to follow and, hopefully, put into action... On my run on the same afternoon of my class, I literally shaved 1 minute off my pace by simply implementing what I learned. It works. I hope that continues on Monday when I next run." ~Ian |
"My 17-year-old daughter and I attended your runners' workshop Saturday... I really wasn't sure what to expect, but I thought it would be a good experience for my daughter, who is in x-country and track at Cactus Shadows HS. What a wonderful surprise! The workshop was extremely informative and Barry was very entertaining-- particularly at 9am on a Saturday. I learned a lot and my daughter picked up on some great tips (and also learned about Barry White, whom she had never heard of...) I want to thank Runner's Den and Barry (not White) for such a great workshop. Events like these demonstrate why Runner's Den is one of Phoenix's jewels." ~Michael |
